1983 Ford Escort GLX

The early American Ford Escort and Mercury Lynx is a car that I have a sentimental attachment towards. Moreover, it's a model that has utterly disappeared from the roads. Every time I find one to photograph feels like an accomplishment of its own.
After several months of spotting this particular car at awkward moments around town, I finally managed to snag it at last! Still on the road, in relatively good condition, more than 20 years after a good portion of its compatriots failed their brakes or snapped their timing belts into oblivion. Perhaps they top off the radiator with the fountain of youth?

Ford GT Street - Before & After

Put together an image composed from two separate photos. I've recently dedicated more time to really teach myself how to do some serious photo retouching/maniupaltion. I enjoy photography as an amateur, and am a professional designer by trade, so my attempt is to continue building on the already wide range capabilities I have. Now I realize that I am only beginning to really grasp this technique and not a professional retoucher, so I welcome everyone's comments and suggestions.

Worked in PS CS3. Utilized plug-ins ReDynamix and Topaz Adjust to get some of the effects. Applied vignetting to background image and increased saturation. Select cut out road and applied on separate layer. Then applied gaussian blur to main background image. After processing separately, I selectively cut out Ford GT from original photo, then dropped into background image as overlay layer. Added slight drop shadow to car. Used free transform to manipulate car into final perspective view.
