Porsche Panamera - Fastest 4-door Production

A German magazine is reporting that a Porsche Panamera Turbo driven by racing legend and Porsche test driver Walter Röhrl has lapped the Nürburgring race track in 7:56, a time that would shave about three seconds off of the record-setting 7:59.32 time achieved by the Cadillac CTS-V.

According to Sportauto, the Panamera Turbo used for the timed lap featured the optional Sport Chrono Package, including ceramic brakes.

The Nürburgring is extensively used for new car development. The record-breaking CTS-V, which was driven around the track last May by former General Motors Performance Division chief John Heinricy, was sold by the automaker at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona earlier this year.

Indeed, you're looking at a Lexus IS-Force, an IS-F that's been converted to a cruiser for police duty in the English county of Humberside, which includes the notoriously criminally minded port city of Hull. For the past few years, Humberside bobbies have been chasing baddies in Subaru Imprezas, but the AWD cars just weren't up to the task at hand. What to replace 'em with? Here's what the cops were thinking, according to Sergeant Mike Peck:

"The Lexus was tested during a 12-month period along with similar vehicles and proved itself to be ideally suited in providing a dynamically safe high performance chassis along with an electronically stable platform for the computer equipment. In the past this equipment has placed huge demands on vehicles but the Lexus IS-F easily met with our requirements. The final product provides a most formidable package and is undoubtedly one of the most advanced police vehicles in the world which in turn enables my officers to deal with the criminals who use the roads for serious and organized crime."

Well, not quite extras, because if you know the Lexus brand well enough, they rarely come with an options list, as all the trick stuff is fitted as standard kit. It’s one of the brand’s main selling points, apart from the near faultless reliability and subsequent cost of ownership.These options include on-board computers and communications equipment.

However, Lexus produce mostly soft luxury cars don’t they? Mostly.

But this is the Lexus IS-F, powered by a 5-litre V8 engine, which has been specially tuned to deliver blistering acceleration and a top speed of 270km/h.

The Centenaire's unique combination of a « sprintblue matt » and « sprintblue gloss » hence offers a new impression of the two-tone-scheme known so far with parts of the engine also covered in this traditional Bugatti Blue.

Lagonda is best known for its range of saloons and tourers but its future lies in a very different realm.The idea behind the revival of Lagonda is to allow current owner, Aston Martin, to reserve its own name for its sports car models like the upcoming Vantage V12 RS and One-77 supercar and have another brand to develop models with a completely different character. As expected, the latest concept vehicle is anything but a sports car, but exactly what segment it fits remains uncertain. Looking somewhat like the deformed step-brother of the Lincoln MKT crossover the new Lagonda Concept could best be described as the ugly lovechild of a sedan and crossover. The concept has been designed using elements from Lagonda’s past but it also showcases a unique design language that will feature prominently on its future models.The vehicle is essentially a luxury sedan with four doors and seating capacity for four adults that sits on a 4WD platform. The wheel base of the Veyron is about 2710 mm, while the length, width and the height of the model are 4462 mm, 1998 mm and 1204 mm respectively. The Bugatti Veyron has 10 radiators in total - 1 hydraulic oil radiator for the spoiler, 3 radiators for the engine cooling system, 1 engine oil radiator, 1 heat exchanger for the air-to-liquid intercoolers, 1 differential oil radiator, 2 for the air conditioning system and 1 transmission oil radiator.
